CHALLENGE: Anticipated Schedule & Budget Overruns
An international hotel chain was experiencing significant challenges on a high profile project that included two hotel properties, a spa and a golf course. The company anticipated that these challenges would result in considerable budget and schedule overruns. Issues included lack of team communication across the primary design and construction firms, a significant number of unresolved project issues, and “broken” key project management processes related to information sharing, budget management, and schedule oversight.
SOLUTION: Integrated & Collaborative Project Team
Gretchen Gagel worked closely with this project team to develop an integrated approach that maximized the benefits of collaborative relationships between the design, engineering, construction and owner resources. Specific efforts focused upon consistent processes, transparent communication and effective problem solving to accelerate the project schedule and minimize costs. A primary initiative was achieving effective issue resolution. (This work occurred prior to joining Continuum Advisory Group).
RESULTS: Schedule, Budget & Quality Goals Achieved
Gretchen’s work with the team helped them build the trust and skills required to tackle the issues and return the project to successful performance. The project was completed on schedule, under budget and achieved all quality expectations.
